A 12th century door has been re-set into the 15th century tower. The large church of St John the Baptist has its origins in the 12th century and some work remains. There were alterations in the 13th century and extensive alterations and additions in the 15th century including the tower. Restored in 1864. The church has some fine fittings including an outstanding late 15th century chantry chapel. Listed, grade I, with details at: https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1195097
