Royalist Burial Stone and seat
This is the view of the public footpath which continues through the farm gate in this photo and passes the farm barns of Challabrook Farm. On the right can be seen a large standing stone which is a burial cross bearing the following inscription:- "This old cross one marked the grave of a Royalist officer who fail near here 1645 when Cromwell's troops defeated the Royalists. A. J. W. 1923". The seat provides a well resting place alongside the small babbling brook which runs in the depression behind the seat and the cross.

Cavalier Cross (Longstone or Challabrook Cross), old head, shaft and base, Starkey No.80 by the green lane, in parish of Bovey Tracey (Teignbridge District), on the public footpath leading from the by-pass, about 350m North East of Challabrook Farm, in the grass beside the brook, just before the farm gate.
