Common Spangle Wasp Galls
The Common Spangle Wasp Gall (caused by the Cynipini wasp species Neuroterus albipes). On the underside of an oak leaf. Limes Land, Tenterden, Kent. The gall wasp larvae induce the plant to produce the abnormal growths known as galls. Ref:PG121502ag.

Xanthoria parietina Lichen
The lichen 'Xanthoria parietina' seen on the bark of a field maple on Limes Land in Tenterden, Kent. The green-yellow thallus (main body) is leaf-like and slightly wrinkled. The disc-shaped fruiting bodies are orange with paler rims and contain the ascus (a sac containing the spores). Image ref:P6070043a2g.
