Seen from Maidstone Road, planning permission has been granted by Ashford Borough Council under application number 11/00932/AS for "the construction of a retail development for John Lewis at Home, together with car parking, access, landscaping and associated works (including foul drainage, sewer, pumping station and electricity sub-station)". Lampposts along Fougeres Way can be seen on the right.

A slip lane on Fougeres Way has been provided for cars wishing to access the Image but drivers were having to queue as it looked full to bursting. The store had only opened on 7 November 2013, so it was natural curiosity for there to be so many potential customers wishing to look round.
