Extension of Elwick House, Elwick Road
Planning permission was granted by Ashford Borough Council under application number 16/00963/AS for a “single-storey roof extension containing 3 self-contained flats, and external changes including modification of entrance/s and glazing”. To its left, the Image have been completed and interested parties are being invited to place reservations on the apartments.

Elwick Road, Ashford
This junction has been designed on Dutch principles so that traffic and pedestrians can mix without barriers or lights. Pedestrians crossing from over the railway to go to the centre of town straight ahead are meant to cross on either side of the grey paved area whilst traffic on Elwick Road, which is part of the inner ring road, is meant to slow down on seeing the paved area.

The building under construction is a Travelodge hotel, which is part of a development called Elwick Place.
Planning permission was granted by Ashford Borough Council under application number 15/01195/AS for “mixed use development comprising of restaurants and cafes (Class A3), a hotel (Class C1), leisure and assembly, including a cinema (Class D2), a car park, associated highway works, vehicle access, infrastructure, plant, car and cycle parking and landscaping (Phase 1).
