The 'rusty bolt' roundabout
This 'sculpture' is a new roundabout in Ashford. The road layout in Ashford was changed last year. The ringroad going around the town centre is now two-ways, instead of a clockwise one-way system. This roundabout is at the bottom of West Forge Lane. The system has created long queues and bottle-necks at certain junctions. Also, note the very expensive 'designed' street lamps to go with the new streets.

Street furniture in West Forge Lane
These stone gabions (rocks in cages), plants in gravel, expensive street lighting (£75,000 alone) trees in row and bench seating areas, are part of the new two-way road system around Ashford town centre. There was a clockwise one-way system. But when County Square shopping centre was being refurbished the council also decided to change the roads as well. ? Has it worked ?
