Looking across the walled garden at Chartwell
Chartwell was the principal adult home of Sir Winston Churchill and his wife Clementine from 1922 to his death in 1965, upon which it came into the ownership if the National Trust - see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chartwell For anyone who has not been here before the size of the gardens and estate comes as a surprise. The walled garden at Chartwell, with its display of flowers and vegetables, is worth a visit all on its own. This is the view from the terrace above the walled garden which is easily missed at Chartwell. There are seats to rest and admire the wonderful views towards Ashdown Forest.
