36 & 37 Station Road, Madeley
A row of 17th century, timber framed cottages, which were collectively Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101352031-36-and-37-station-road-madeley#.W8WMEWhKhPY in 1983. There are several alterations and extensions (notably the dormer windows and additional rear wing) which date to the 19th century.

34 & 35 Station Road, Madeley
Described in its 1983 Grade II listing details https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101033291-34-and-35-station-road-madeley#.W8WK4WhKhPY as 'stuccoed', there have apparently been alterations to remove that facing and return the walls to painted brickwork. The 19th century shopfront to the right is an addition to the 18th century house.

That's pushing it a bit...
A terrace of houses on Station Road in Madeley, with lettering making a somewhat inflated claim by the pill manufacturers! Surely, even in grim times, there was more to life than taking sugar-coated pills? Maybe not.

Cottage on Station Road, Madeley
Despite the datestone in the gable (1690) this late 17th century rubblestone cottage appears to have evaded being listed. The brick upper storey with its dormer windows is clearly a much later (probably 19th century) addition. Maybe the alterations are simply too substantial to leave much of the original fabric intact.

The former Mount Zion Primitive Methodist Chapel, Madeley
Now the home to a small printing business, the chapel was erected in 1865 and ceased to be a place of worship in 1977. It is currently known as The People's Centre in Madeley.

The CHEC offices
The acronym CHEC is the Community Health and Enterprise Centre, but it occupies a building that was formerly the Cooper's Arms pub which closed in 1907, also used later as a police station, boot maker's premises and hairdresser.

Madeley Market Station
On the LNWR Coalport Branch Line the station closed in 1953 after 90 years of use. Now restored and used by Social Services.
