The Old Orleton Inn (Falcon Hotel)
Previously known as The Falcon Hotel, and originally built in the late 18th century as Haygate Farmhouse, associated with a number of farm buildings, a few of which are still standing to its east Image, this place attracted a Grade II listing https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101209768-falcon-hotel-wellington#.YOyaDehKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1209768 in 1983. A slightly alternative history is recorded by the Victoria County History of Shropshire, Vol XI, Telford (page 309), which suggests that the Haygate Inn (as it was then known) opened in the 17th century and by the late 18th century was a leading coaching inn on Watling Street. It became known as the Falcon Inn c1829. It closed c1856 a few years after the railway had reached Wellington, becoming a farmhouse. It reopened as the Falcon Hotel in 1971.

Former barns east of the Falcon Inn
These conversions have the look of former barns, and were presumably part of the farm buildings at The Old Orleton Inn, when it was Haygate Farmhouse in the mid 19th century.
