Setting the blueprint for West Mercia Police, the Police and Crime Commissioner’s West Mercia Safer Communities Plan has four priorities shaped by the public:

- Cutting crime – targeting the concerns, and crime types, that matter most to communities, including anti-social behaviour
- Policing with the community – more visible and accessible policing resulting in improved public confidence and satisfaction

Rural Crime and thefts - This includes hare coursing which is a issue for the farming community, and theft from yards/farms of items from wuthin farmyard locations.

Regular patrols of the rural communities, engaging with residents and the use of local Parish Meetings.
Engagement with farmers to target harden locations as well as appropriate 'warning signage'
Effective use of crime deterrents such as Smartwater.
