Telford: International Centre
This conference and exhibition facility has been refurbished in recent years and now has a reflective frontage that looks rather as if it has been wrapped in tin foil. This week it was hosting snooker's prestigious UK Championship.

Carpark area to the south of the International Centre
The vehicles on here this particular day seemed to be mostly taking part in a local car club rally - there were a lot of tuned engines being revved and loud exhausts making plenty of banging and popping noises. And a bit of high-speed antics both in the carpark and the nearby road.

Traffic lights on St Quentin Gate, Telford
The lights are always there; the crowds less so. They appeared to be spectators at some kind of car rally event, as the nearby carpark had a large number of tuned vehicles coming in & out, and those were razzing up and down the road here, evidently over the notional speed limit at times. Much popping and banging of loud exhausts as a result.

The Ironbridge 1/2 Marathon 2010 - the start arena
The event now starts in the arena of the Telford Town Park, but for many years used the Stirchley Leisure Centre in SJ7006. It follows a route down through the Town Park, into Coalbrookdale, along the Ironbride Gorge and across the bridge, then back across the Woodbridge in Coalport, before a long, tough climb back up the Silkin Way to a finish in the Town Park again. Great running.
