Trinity Church, Newport , Shropshire
Now a combined United Reformed Church and Methodist chapel by the signage. Nice glass door. Undergoing a bit of work by the look of things. What is the medium to long term future of these places of worship in our largely secularised society?

Beau Bar, 2 Wellington Road
A fairly new bar offering wines, cocktails and spirits, and very much aimed at younger people. Needless to say, it has its own Facebook page, and perhaps it twitters too?

The old British School, Wellington Road, Newport, Shropshire
Dating to 1841 if my somewhat sketchy recollection of Roman numerals is accurate. Shame about the bricked up windows.

The Shakespeare Inn, Upper Bar, Newport, Shropshire
I always like to see a pub celebrating the Bard. Even in a town with no discernible connection to the great man, maybe especially so. (There is a similarly named inn in Coalport if I recall correctly). Anything that puts a man in mind of the everlasting sayings of Will Shakespeare as he sups his pint has got to be a good thing. "All the worlds a stage, And all the men and women merely players, They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts..."

Smallwood Lodge
One year before London's Great Fire, Newport had one of its own. Most of the town was destroyed by fire in 1665. A notable exception is Smallwood Lodge.
