Yarrowford Village Hall
Buildings of corrugated metal are quite common in Scotland, frequently they're an orangey-brown in colour at least in part, but the metal sheeting is normally thrown into a 'sine wave' form and the colour is due to rust! Here, the corrugations are more angular and the colour is that of the applied paint. To give directions for the village hall at Yarrowford would be straightforward!

Colourful village hall, Yarrowford
This cheerful tomato-coloured building must be an unassailable contender for the 'Most Conspicuous Village Hall in Southern Scotland' prize. It stands out clearly in the view from Foulshiels Hill, e.g. as in Image

Yarrowford Public Hall
The refurbishment of the hall was completed last year with the aid of several grants totalling £52000 and £7000 raised by the hall committee. The building has been reclad with self-coloured box-profiled sheeting so that repainting will not be required in future. The windows have been upgraded, new ventilation installed and insulation added to the structure. Disabled access and a new disabled toilet have also been provided.
