The 2009 Tour of Britain Cycle Race in Melrose
This scene in East Port shows some of the team back up cars in pursuit of the cyclists during stage 3 of the Tour of Britain Race. An estimated crowd of 1000 people turned out to support the cyclists. The stage from Peebles to Gretna Green, a distance of 153.8km, was won by Edvald Boasson Hagen of Norway. Riders in the peloton race through East Port in pursuit of a four-rider breakaway during the Peebles to Gretna Green stage 3 of the tour. The breakaway cyclists were caught 15km from the end of the 153.8km stage, which was won by Edvald Boasson Hagen of Norway.
