The end of the convoy - Olympic torch relay (14)
The police BMW car marks the end of the official Olympic torch relay convoy. Behind it the road is reopened and traffic is flowing again (albeit slowly). The second vehicle in line is a First operated service 60 arriving from Galashiels into the bus stop in Golden Square.

Not long now! - Olympic torch relay (11)
These police motorcyclists heralded the arrival of the torch which was not far behind. Margaret Shaw, the only Berwick resident carrying the flame through the town, can be seen waiting for her moment of fame in the foreground.

Crowds waiting in Golden Square - Olympic torch relay (4)
The pavements of Golden Square are packed with onlookers waiting for the passing of the Olympic torch relay through the town 20 minutes later. A similar scene taken 4 hours earlier typical of a quiet Berwick weekday can be seen in Image To allow the relay to pass through securely the road, the main one through the town has been closed to traffic.

The first vehicles in the convoy - Olympic torch relay (5)
The first vehicles in the convoy can be seen rounding the corner at the junction of Golden Square and Marygate. First up is a bus which deposited the torch bearers at their start point followed up by the sponsors (or "presentation partners") floats. First of these was the Coca-Cola float which can be seen still rounding the corner in the distance. Before this several police motorcyclists from the local force had already passed by, who presumably were operating road closures at junctions with the torch relay route.
