Patrick and SpongeBob discuss EU fishing policy
An amusing painting on the side of the fishing boat AQUARIUS Image] in Eyemouth harbour. The rope slightly obscures some of the text, but Patrick Starfish is saying to SpongeBob SquarePants ‘YOU CAN HARDLY SEE FOR ALL THESE COD SPONGEBOB!’ SpongeBob replies ‘YES PINKY PAT, AND DID YOU KNOW THE FISHERMEN ARE’NT EVEN ALLOWED TO LAND THEM? AARGH!’ EU fishing quotas are in theory designed to protect depleted cod grounds in the North Sea and other areas, but the controls and high fuel costs are leading to increasing hardship for trawler men.

Coastal Berwickshire : Oats Are Good For You!
This was one of three lifeboats in Eyemouth that day. One was on the dockyard slipway hiding behind the North Shields registered Fisheries Patrol vessel St. Oswald. The third lifeboat (the Barclaycard something-or-other) was parked up near the new fishmarket. In the background is the Leith registered Rebecca (LH11).

The Navy's New Stealth Ship "Heroine" Seen at Eyemouth Harbour
With a futuristic superstructure of new space-age material designed to confuse enemy radar and everyone else who sees her, her revolutionary brutalist anti-aesthetic design is certainly unlike anything we have seen before (apart from those hideously ugly new Royal Navy destroyers recently built on the Clyde).

Modern Naval Architecture Goes Too Far At Eyemouth Harbour
Where's Prince Charles when you need him? This monstrous carbuncle is the former(?) fishing boat Heroine. I think this design was drawn on the back of a corned beef tin.
