A footbridge over the Gala Water at Watherston
This bridge spans the river on the east side of a railway bridge on the dismantled Waverley Line. It will be interesting to see if it survives after the reinstatement of the line between Edinburgh to Tweedbank (the Borders Railway) which is projected to be completed in December 2014.

A ford unsafe sign by the Gala Water at Watherston
This ford warning sign is on the south bank of the river and on the west side of a railway bridge on the dismantled Waverley Line. The ford is only likely to be used by farm vehicles. Interestingly this was originally a road unsafe sign but with the addition of a couple of letters it has been converted into a ford unsafe sign. For a view of the ford, see Image
