This play park in Birgham sits adjacent to the main A609 highway. The park is on land gifted to the village by Colonel Margoribanks Egerton in 1290 after the Treaty of Birgham

Birgham Millennium Cairn
A plaque on the cairn has the following inscription:- BIRGHAM MILLENNIUM CAIRN Erected by the villagers of Birgham to commemorate millennium 2000, and as a memorial to the residents of Birgham who have laid down their lives in past wars to defend the freedom of our country. This cairn also marks Birgham's place in history as the location of the signing of the "Treaty of Birgham", between Scotland and England, on 18th July 1290. Officially unveiled jointly by the 2000 "Coldstreamer" and "Kelso Laddie", assisted by members of the "Coldstream Guards" on the 9th August 2000. Built by Mr George Fairley, age 79, originally from Birgham.
