The Return of the 60
After a hiatus of five days due to poor weather and road conditions, First's service 60 between Galashiels and Berwick resumed operation at lunchtime on 10th January, 2010. Scania L94/Wright Solar no.61228 is seen at Market Square, Duns on the first journey on the service since the previous Tuesday evening.

An old gravestone in Duns Parish Churchyard
This old weathered symbolic stone displays emblems of mortality on the lower part with a skull, bones and an hourglass. The top part shows the symbols of the trade of a blacksmith with the hammer, anvil and horseshoe.

Converted church, Currie Street, Duns
This church on Currie Street Duns dates from 1851. It is no longer in use as a church and has been converted into a showroom for selling carpets. The building is category C listed. A converted church in Duns
This building in Currie Street is the former Duns South United Presbyterian Church. It is dated below the bellcote as being built in 1765 and rebuilt in 1851, and is now a carpet warehouse and showroom. Viewed from Duns Parish Churchyard.

Duns Parish Church
The present building replaced an earlier one that was demolished in 1790. The church was badly damaged by fire in 1879 and restored in 1880.

Interior of Duns Parish Church
'Grade "B" listed Duns Parish Church was built in 1880-81, to Wardrop & Reid's design in the "Classical" style. The building has a beautiful interior, including an impressive organ. Duns was only the second Church of Scotland congregation to introduce music into worship. Standing in the heart of Berwickshire's county town. Most of the building dates from 1880, replacing the previous church which burnt down the year before, although the spire goes back to 1790.
