Greenlaw Old Mercat Cross
The old cross, which was first erected in the first decade of the 17th. century, was situated in the centre of Greenlaw Green in the middle of the old county town of Berwickshire. When plans were drawn up to build the new county buildings, the cross was removed to the prison, which later became part of the church. Later it was placed outside, on the west wall of the old prison tower where it still stands. A new cross was erected in 1829 and is now situated behind the magnificent War Memorial on the High Street.
