Cossington village hall
Built around the spacious Trivetts Hall, it is part of the new Manor Court housing development that was created around 2010. The old hall was a little further away and used to face onto Middle Road; it was a much smaller wooden affair - the new one is a great improvement.

Big Tree memorial stone, Cossington
Since Image was taken, a monolith has been erected with a relief plaque of the great tree, "a mighty 80ft high Elm Tree which dominated the centre of the village ... with its branches spreading out across the roads. It was felled due to terminal disease in 1977" http://www.cossingtonparishcouncil.org.uk/big-tree/4591603797 .

But there is an even briefer public footpath to the church on the other side of Manor Road, which is unnumbered on either this source or the SCC map.

A stone edifice for a big tree
Cossington's famous old tree once stood at this spot and held sway for many generations. Sadly it's time came to an end and a sapling replanted also did not last. This stone monument marks the history but is topped off with some less than original stone novelties.

Site of Cossington Great Tree
In the Monmouth Rebellion of 1685, it is reputed that some of the rebels were hung on the Great Tree of Cossington. Nearby Great Tree Farm takes its name from the site
