Since Image was taken, a monolith has been erected with a relief plaque of the great tree, "a mighty 80ft high Elm Tree which dominated the centre of the village ... with its branches spreading out across the roads. It was felled due to terminal disease in 1977" http://www.cossingtonparishcouncil.org.uk/big-tree/4591603797 .
