Mural, Angel Place, Bridgwater
One of the main sagas in the recent community history of Bridgwater has been the demolition of the Splash swimming pool on Northgate. This mural, "a community project created by Tina Spratt, designed by local artist Martin Granter, and painted by young people from the Roller Coaster Youth Centre and school pupils" http://www.bridgwatermercury.co.uk/news/4737833.Splash_mural_saved_from_destruction/ was saved from the building and rehoused in the Angel Place shopping centre across the road. It was unveiled here on 28th November 2009.

Scott Cinemas, Bridgwater
Viewed across Mount Street. The cinema opened as The Odeon in this Art Deco building on July 13th 1936. During the late 1960s it was sold to Classic Cinemas, who were later bought by Cannon Cinemas. Classic separated the stalls area for use as a bingo hall and divided the balcony into the two existing cinemas, making the new cinema entrance seen here. Scott Cinemas acquired the cinemas in December 1983.
