...And stand well back!
A suitably enthusiastic statue faces towards the Cornhill, celebrating one of Bridgwater's notable attractions - the Carnival. Created by Dave Faulks and funded by voluntary donations, it was officially unveiled in 2005 - celebrating 400 years since the Gunpowder Plot was foiled. Bridgwater has marked this pivotal event in English history by holding the Carnival each November, and as well as lighting bonfires and fireworks the town is home to a very colourful procession of floats.
