This farm house which appears no longer to be a working farm is on Wheelhouse lane on the minor road between Maudlin Cross and Shedrick Bridge

Maudlin Cross
Another view of the crossroads where Image was taken. The signpost has fingers in only three directions because the fourth, Maudlin Lane (straight ahead in this view), is not a public road but is followed by bridleway W44 99.

Laymore: Maudlin Cross signpost
This finger-post retains its traditional Dorset finial, giving location and grid reference. The fingers themselves, though, are modern replacements - the lettering is adhesive whereas the originals would have been screwed on; the original fingers would probably also have been rounded rather than pointed.

Old Milestone by the B3162
Carved stone post by the B3162, in parish of THORNCOMBE (WEST DORSET District), East of Maudlin Cross, 60m East of house 'Green View', set into bank and hedge, on South side of road. Chard limestone post, erected by the Chard turnpike trust in the 19th century.
