Gone under the hammer
In 1964, this modern chapel was built in honour of the old octagonal church in Middle Street - an eighteenth century place where John Wesley preached. However, the dwindling congregation forced the proprietors to close in 2012 and sell up. Local antiques auctioneers, Greenslade Taylor Hunt, took over.

A simple beauty
Holy Trinity was built to serve the large influx of townsfolk that occurred when the railways arrived. The Bishop of Bath and Wells commissioned the founding of a new church in 1839, which eventually opened on 18th June, 1842, at a cost of about £5,000. See Image] for more inside.
