A stuffed bird on top of the pole
This telegraph pole in downtown Somerton has an artificial bird attached to the top, presumably to deter real birds from causing problems. See Image] for a location view.

Pump at the old Pump House
Standing right outside the house is a disused pump, appropriately enough. Next door was a garage with fuel services, but which was demolished a few years ago.

Above Behind Berry
The old part of Somerton with an odd name, Behind Berry, also holds an odd sight: above the telegraph pole is an artificial bird, attached to the top. See Image] for a better look at it.

The old school house, Somerton
Located in Behind Berry, the old school buildings are a typical example of local work. The land-owning Pinney family built several buildings in the town, with Ham Stone the usual choice for them. The school was built in the mid-nineteenth century with later additions and extensions; it was subseqenetly closed as a new school was founded elsewhere. Grade II listed. A benchmark of similar age lies on the lower course close to the modern pavement level - see Image
