Path to Snailbeach Mine
Following the mine's restoration and interpretation, a footpath has been created to link the village hall car park with the mine site, avoiding the narrow and steep lane.

Part of Snailbeach lead mine buildings
The large roofless building with the tall chimney is a Compressor House, elsewhere are locomotive sheds, Cornish beam engine houses and a variety of buildings large and small associated with the mine. I believe guided tours are regularly available and come highly recommended.

Snailbeach Mine - the remains of Halvans Engine House
This engine house was erected about 1900 and provided power for separating minerals from the adjoining tip (now largely gone and overgrown). The derelict and crumbling remains were demolished c1985 and spurred the County Council to veto further demolition on site. The site has now been well consolidated and further work is ongoing over the 2014-15 winter period. These are some of the best mining remains north of Cornwall and well worth a visit.
