This engine house was erected about 1900 and provided power for separating minerals from the adjoining tip (now largely gone and overgrown). The derelict and crumbling remains were demolished c1985 and spurred the County Council to veto further demolition on site. The site has now been well consolidated and further work is ongoing over the 2014-15 winter period. These are some of the best mining remains north of Cornwall and well worth a visit.
