22 Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury
Originally built in the early 18th century as a house, and refronted in brick in the 19th, likely at the same time the shopfront was added. 18 - 21 Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury
From the outside, the building isn't much to catch the eye, but the ground floor restaurant has made a feature of a lot of the internal structure of exposed wooden beams and cruck trusses, dated to the 15th century, with a few remaining pieces of wattle and daub walls. Not much to look at from the outside, but the 18th century exterior hides an earlier building, including a 17th century staircase.
