Ceredigion Museum, Aberystwyth
A brilliant little museum, housed in what was previously a coliseum cinema, so the building is of tremendous value and interest in its own right and the museum displays are great - a nice mix of academic, slightly tatty, surprising and varied. I loved it. Free too.

The Other Place
Restaurant/Cafe on the corner of Terrace Road and Corporation Street. Formerly the National Milk Bars Restaurant. Note the different windows on the Terrace Road frontage. The nearer ones are unusual in Aberystwyth being rounded - apparently a Local Council policy of around 1900 required all alterations to buildings to have rounded bay windows replaced with flat fronted ones, hence the further ones, on what was once a separate house. The nearer ones are a rare survivor. Grade II listed - see http://cadwpublic-api.azurewebsites.net/reports/listedbuilding/FullReport?lang=en&id=10402.

Boots, Terrace Road
Entrance to Aberystwyth's branch of Boots in Terrace Road, situated in the ground floor of the former Coliseum Theatre. It was built in 1904 to a design of J Arthur Jones to replace a former theatre which had burnt down the previous year. In 1932 it was converted to a cinema, a use it held until 1977. It reopened as the museum in 1983. Grade II listed - see http://cadwpublic-api.azurewebsites.net/reports/listedbuilding/FullReport?lang=en&id=10400. See also Image for the façade on Bath Street and Image for the façade on Portland Street. All three façades contain a statue of Edward VII at the top of the gable.
