Part of the southwestern shoulder of Moel y Golfa in November
As you ascend the footpath the trees thin out and the views over the hill open up. The area bathed in sunshine in the valley is the floodplain of the Severn around Pool Quay and Welshpool.

Part of the steep footpath up Moel y Golfa
The footpath here crosses plenty of contour lines but the climb is worth it.

View towards the Severn valley from Moel y Golfa
A view that I never tire of, in any season, any weather condition and at any time of day.

Part of the southwestern shoulder of Moel y Golfa in Winter
Most of the young trees gripping onto this part of the hillside are stripped of their leaves, with only a young oak retaining its dry, curled leaves. Below is the floodplain of the mighty River Severn. The eye is also drawn to the snow clad Berwyn Hills, some 18-20 miles north-west of Moel y Golfa, in Wales. And the Cadair Idris range in the more distant west, also mantled in snow.

Falling Leaf
Not quite the last leaf of autumn but we're getting there! In the woods above Golfa Bank and old quarry.
