View towards Foel Mallwyd across the Afon Dyfi. The line had been the Mawddwy Light Railway, from Cemmaes Road (to the right) to Dinas Mawddwy (to the left), passing just beyond the farm building, closed 1/7/51 (passengers 1/1/31).

Footpath to nowhere
The 1:25000 and 1:50000 maps show this footpath, which runs alongside the Afon Dyfi from Pont Mallwyd, stopping abruptly at the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, around 500m south of here. Larger scale maps show a path (although not necessarily a right of way), continuing for a further 200m or so to meet the A470.

Pont Mallwyd
The very narrow bridge over the Afon Dyfi west of Mallwyd. The walls appear to have been recently reconstructed; the capping on the parapets of the bridge itself seem a bit odd.
