Brynmor Parc, Newton
Off The Bryn, which is Welsh for "Hill", as far as I know. Brynmor Parc is a newish development of houses on the edge of Newtown. Taken with the last of the light as I was delivering stuff to an even newer development on the opposite side of the road.

New House, Newtown
The development of "exclusive" homes to which I was delivering stuff; that's my lorry in the foreground. Houses nowadays are delivered more or less in kit form: on my trailer I had three stacks of prefabricated wall panels nailed together in our factory in Hereford, about twelve roof trusses likewise and a selection of lengths of timber and metal brackets which would be used to put it all together. Then the brickies come along and build a brick shell around the wood panelling, plasterboard is erected on the internal walls and bingo, there's your house. It's amazing how quick it all goes up, and more or less an entire house can be delivered in two or three lorry loads.

Bryn Lane, Newtown
Leading out of town. Newtown Hospital is at its lower end. To the left is a building site where four or five new "executive homes" are being built.

Coed y Nant and the entrance to Coed Mawr
From Llanfair Road. The sheep have created diagonal terraces on the steep field behind the house. The brook which runs between Llanfair Road and Sycamore Drive before joining the Severn, crosses under the road on the left.
