Brynderwen Lock, Near Newtown, Powys
The Montgomery Canal, derelict for many years, is now being restored as a cruiseway through the picturesque Welsh Marches. The building between the canal and the A483 was once a transshipment shed.

Brynderwen Bridge over River Severn, Abermule
This impressive cast iron road bridge is still in everyday use. The lettering reads: "THIS SECOND IRON BRIDGE CONSTRUCTED IN THE COUNTY OF MONTGOMERY WAS ERECTED IN THE YEAR 1852".
