37, 38 & 38a Castle Street, Shrewsbury
Originally built as a house in 1723, and subsequently converted to a bank, then into two separate shops on the ground floor more recently. The whole was Grade II listed https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1246908 & https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101246908-37-38-and-38a-castle-street-shrewsbury in 1972.

36 Castle Street, Shrewsbury
Of similar date and style to the adjoining no 35 on it left, seen more clearly in Image, but sufficiently independent to warrant its own Grade II listing https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1246907 & https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101246907-36-castle-street-shrewsbury from 1972.

Dated 1723 in the rainwater heads. The even quoins are of that time. The stucco and shopfront are later. Grade II listed.

Windsor Lodge (or Perches Mansion), Castle Street, Shrewsbury
To be fair, this is the rather underwhelming rear of the otherwise rather impressive Perches Mansion, very similar in style to Image, which fronts onto Castle Street and dates from 1581. It was Grade II* listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101246909-windsor-lodge-shrewsbury#.XBaCddSLTGg in 1980.

Woolworths, Shrewsbury
Still empty 22 July 2009, but the grapevine says that the H & M fashion chain is taking over soon. Littlewoods used to have a good store next door but when they folded, some time ago, Marks & Spencer expanded into the building.

Swinton and a former Jessops in Shrewsbury
On the left, Swinton Insurance is at 39-40 Castle Street. There are To Let boards on the former Jessops shop. The small premises in between, with the black and amber awning, is Angie's Hair Salon. Koochini's coffee shop and restaurant and a branch of Barclays Bank are on the right.
