Nos 2 & 2a, Golden Cross Passage
Located in a very narrow passageway with the jettied rear wing of Image pub on the other side, 2 & 2a are a pair of early 18th century houses, of which one was originally converted to a workshop and latterly a restaurant. Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101247660-2-and-2a-golden-cross-passage-shrewsbury#.Yje2cOrP3IU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1247660 in 1972.

The Golden Cross pub, Princess Street, Shrewsbury
Believed to date in parts to the late 15th century, around 1475, although much of its extensive structure behind the frontage is 16th century, and this street frontage is actually early 20th. Originally it was built as sacristy to the nearby St Chad's church. Grade II* listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101270630-the-golden-cross-public-house-shrewsbury#.Xb3_Muj7TIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1270630 in 1953.

16 & 16a Princess Street, Shrewsbury
Essentially a 19th century house as it appears externally, but quite probably this disguises an older building at its centre, and the shop front is a more recent addition. The property was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101254731-16-and-16a-princess-street-shrewsbury#.Xb8Lpej7TIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1254731 in 1972.

17 & 18 Princess Street, Shrewsbury
Although apparently a single building from the street, there is an internal timber-framed dividing party wall which butts up against the front gable, and effectively divides the building into two. It's thought likely to be the relic cross-wing of a much larger building on the site in the late 16th century, and was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101254732-17-and-18-princess-street-shrewsbury#.Xb8Nfej7TIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1254732 in 1972.

8 Milk Street, Shrewsbury
The 6-bayed building in the centre of the picture, with the heavy overhang to the roof is an 18th/19th century refacing in brick of a much earlier (16th or 17th century) timber-framed house - there are substantial parts remaining in the interior, including a late 17th century staircase and extensive wood panelling. The shop fronts are much later. The whole was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101254659-8-milk-street-shrewsbury#.Xb_haOj7RPY & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1254659 in 1953.
