Fire Insurance plaque - No 41 High Street
Probably an original feature, as the building would have been in existence around the period that the local fire insurance companies were in business.
Fire Plaques, such as this 'Salop' version, were used as visual evidence from the late 17th century onwards that the building was covered by one of the fire-extinguishing services of the time, there being no national service at that point. The Salop Fire company was presumably based at Image just along the road, as the inscription above one of the doors of that building says 'Salop Fire Office'

No 6 High Street, Shrewsbury
A rather gloomy day for photography in a narrow street, unfortunately. No 6 is a late 18th century building, into which the shopfront was inserted in the 20th. Until recently it operated as the premises of the Birmingham Midshires building society. The building was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101254506-6-high-street-shrewsbury#.YQkDEY5KjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1254506 in 1972.

Pandora's Box, Shrewsbury
Pandora's Box on the left at 11 High Street is a gift shop which also provides services
such as key cutting and fitting replacement watch batteries. Also in view are
the entrance to High Street Chambers, Write Here and a Cancer Research UK charity shop.
