Firemark, 13, The Square
Issued by the Salop Fire Office, founded in 1780. I didn't photograph the whole building, assuming - incorrectly - that it would already be on Geograph!

13 The Square, Shrewsbury
Tucked in next to the grandeur of the Music Hall (Image]) is a more typical offering of 1713. It was built for an apothecary, Richard Berrington. Grade II listed. Occupied at the time by Carol Grant (clothes).

The Market Hall in The Square
A rainy day in February keeps this usually bustling town centre somewhat deserted. The Old Market Hall is a late C16 two-storey building originally used for the sale of corn downstairs and for dealing in Welsh woollen cloth above. It has also been in past times a magistrates court (upstairs) and an air raid shelter (below). In the early C21 it received a major makeover and now houses a smart cinema and cafe.

14 & 14a The Square, Shrewsbury
The oldest part of these two properties dates to the early 18th century (1713), originally built as a house. Much alteration has taken place over the years, the most unusual feature being the incorporation of a full fashion showroom on the 1st floor of no 14 on the left. Together they were Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101254924-14-and-14a-the-square-shrewsbury#.Yf62I-rP3IU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1254924 in 1953. Currently in use as a restaurant.

Shrewsbury Music Hall
A civic building dating to around 1839, but with a long and distinguished history, having in the most recent past been a Masonic Hall, Music Hall and (currently) a museum. The interior also incorporates part of a much older building, called Vaughan's Mansion, the roof structure of which has been tree-ring dated to the mid 15th century. The Music Hall as seen here was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101254928-the-music-hall-shrewsbury#.Yf6vAOrP3IU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1254928 in 1969.
