The oldest part of these two properties dates to the early 18th century (1713), originally built as a house. Much alteration has taken place over the years, the most unusual feature being the incorporation of a full fashion showroom on the 1st floor of no 14 on the left. Together they were Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101254924-14-and-14a-the-square-shrewsbury#.Yf62I-rP3IU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1254924 in 1953. Currently in use as a restaurant.
