Alberts Shed
First recorded as the Slipper in the 18th century it became the Old Slipper in the 19th. For most of the 20th century it was part of the M&B empire, before being acquired by Wolverhampton & Dudley (Banks's) who themselves rebranded it several times (Jackson's, Merchant Stores, Rowley's etc). It morphed into the Source Vodka Bar before refurbishment in 2017 turned it into Alberts Shed.

3-4 Barker Street, Shrewsbury
To quote Pevsner, "nos. 3 and 4 represent the two dominant types of town house in Shrewsbury, early C18 brick and late C16 half-timbered, but both are heavily restored. No. 3 is dated 1725 and 1935. No. 4 looks entirely reconstructed and bears the unexpected date of 1946 [the listing simply states that it was built in 1940]". Grade II listed.
Both were occupied by estate agents, Cooper Green Pooks and Miller Evans.

Rowley's House and Mansion, Shrewsbury
The timber framed house dates from the late 1500's, although parts of it could be earlier.
Behind it is Rowley’s Mansion, built in 1618 and one of the earliest brick houses in Shrewsbury.
Amazingly, or perhaps not, in the 1960's there was talk of flattening this building for extra car parking spaces. Anyway both survived and can be appreciated today.
Though Shrewsbury's traffic plan doesn't seem to be the most cohesive I've seen in an historic town. Which means far too many cars and lorries use the central streets all day.
