Picnic area next to the car park, Old Racecourse, Oswestry Rural
The map shows a viewpoint from the car park, and there is a skyline plaque. However the view is blocked by a tall hedge. Bring a step-ladder if you want to see it. There is a restricted view from a field gateway off the road a short distance to the north of the car park entrance.

Old Racecourse Common near Oswestry
The smallish car park here is ideal for walkers, dog-walkers, tourists and locals and has information boards, paths in all directions and is near a skyline map, the remains of the old racecourse grandstand with its toposcopes and benches. What a valuable local amenity.

Cyrn y Bwch/Old Oswestry Racecourse
Perched on the crest of the hills to the west of Oswestry, Oswestry Racecourse comprises an 18th century racecourse located on a high plateau between the north Shropshire plains and Welsh hills. Consisting of a patchwork of scrub, scattered trees, bracken and wildflower rich grassland and supporting a wide range of birds and insects.
