West Mercia Police - Oswestry Rural South Neighbourhood

West Mercia Police Information

West Mercia is the fourth largest geographic police area in England and Wales. The force area is divided into five territorial policing areas, which match the boundaries of our local authorities.

While West Mercia is predominantly rural, it also contains some densely populated urban areas and many market towns. To ensure we strike the right balance between addressing national and local policing priorities, the force focuses its activities on three priority areas:

  • Serving
  • Protecting the public
  • Making the difference

Neighbourhood Officer Details

+
Tracy Ryan (Inspector)

I have 15 years Police service undertaking a number of jobs such as patrol, SNT, training and custody.  I have been a Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspector since October 2017.

I have a real passion for ensuring that my team work effectively to address vulnerability,  tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and bring offenders to justice.  We target those doing the most harm within our communities.

North Shropshire and Oswestry are safe places to live and work and along with partners and the community my team are there to ensure this remains the case.

Scott Barnes (Sergeant)
+
Mark Moth (Police Constable)

I joined West Mercia Police in 1998 and was a Response Officer in Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury and Oswestry until 2005, when I became a Local Police Officer for St Martins, Oswestry until 2007.

From 2007 to 2010 I was an Advanced Motorcyclist on the Roads Policing Support Team, based at Shrewsbury and obtained the following skills.
'Advanced grade' Driver and Motorcyclist - Tactical Pursuit and Containment (a moving block and stop on a vehicle involved in a pursuit)  - Stinger (device used to puncture tyres of vehicles involved in a pursuit)

From 2010 to July 2016 I was a Local Police Officer for Oswestry Central, covering the town centre as well as the surrounding, large urban dwelling area.

I am now, since July 2016,  a Local Police Officer for Oswestry South.

+
Charles Iremonger (Police Community Support Officer)

I joined the police as a PCSO in September 2006. I covered most of Shrewsbury`s beat areas before transferring to Oswestry in 2012. Before working for the police I was an outdoor pursuits instructor specialising in Open Canoeing and Kayaking. I can be contacted on the 101 number.

+
Stuart Carroll (Police Community Support Officer)

I joined West Mercia Police in 2008. Before becoming a PCSO I was a dispatcher in the control room and also worked as a call handler and trainer.

Previously I worked in several children's homes looking after children in the care system, where I was a support worker and later on a team leader. I have also worked with the elderly, and in the Benefits Agency.

In my role as a rural south PCSO I hope to be able to make a difference in day-to-day and quality of life issues - working with communities, families, individuals and schools. I am always happy to talk and get involved, so if you see me out and about feel free to say hello.
