Carved stone post with metal attachment, on the B4580, in the Community of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Powys; Green Ucha, on sharp bend East of village, built into garden wall. Erected by the County Council in 1894.

Monolith Milestone by the B4580, Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant
Carved monolith on the B4580, in the Community of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Powys; Green Ucha, on sharp bend East of village next to old school on verge, South-west side of road. The stone was moved from the nearby school and inscribed for a local vicar in 1770.
Inscription reads:-

The Green Stone milestone
Originally thought to have been a prehistoric menhir (standing stone) but put to more recent use in the late 18th century as a carved milestone. It stood a few yards to the west until the nearby school was built, then moved to the roadside, and was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/300081842-the-green-stone-llanrhaeadr-ym-mochnant#.XOw3NYhKjcs in 2003.
