Llangynog Ancient Yew Tree.
At the West end of St Cynog Church sits a solitary Ancient Yew Tree that is between 500-700 years old. Compact and covered in lush green foliage on my visit the hollow bole of the tree and extremely full graveyard made close inspection impossible.

St Cynog's Church, Llangynog
A church is first mentioned on this site in 1254 but the present church was built in 1791-2 and rebuilt in 1894. It is dedicated to St Cynog, an early Welsh saint and martyr. He was reputedly a son of Brychan, a powerful Welsh prince of the British Dark Ages.
