On a Brutalist service tower, now enveloped by, but vastly more interesting than, a new building. It reads:
"This stone was laid by the President of the National Federation of Building Trades Employers October 1970".

Former New Portland Arms, Wandsworth Road
One of two defunct pubs within less than a hundred yards of each other (Image]). This must be inter-war and proudly bears the name "The Wenlock Brewery Co Ltd" in a plaque at the top, quite a contrast with the ugly boards at street level.
