This street is within a conservation area, designated to protect the appearance of the 19th Century terraced housing.
The street has been treated to "traffic calming" measures, including a raised table in the foreground and speed cushions across the street a little further back.

Built in 1962-66 by the Greater London Council. The flats are mostly brick, but there is also plenty of shuttered concrete on display, particularly on the staircase.
