St Jude's Church from Courtfield Gardens. There is a large outdoor area on the left, much of it at a lower level (in the lower left hand corner of the picture part of a playground climbing frame can be seen). The building was designed by the George and Henry Godwin and built between 1867-70. The tower and the spire were added in 1879. It is now home to St Mellitus College. This is a college that was founded in 2007 by the Bishops of London and Chelmsford and it moved into this building in 2012. Although a Grade II* listed building it was renovated specifically for the college's theological training function.

Hotel, Cromwell Road
Not exactly attractive or unobtrusive, but impressive in a way by virtue of its monstrous size. Pevsner calls it "unnecessarily aggressive" and thinks the roofline is "menacingly angular" (Image]). It hardly seems to need saying that it was designed by Richard Seifert & Partners, 1971-72. It is currently a Holiday Inn.
