Pelham Crescent - c1960
The Smith's Charity Estate: Pelham Crescent. George Basevi, architect, James Bonnin, developer, 1833-41. Photo taken from the corner of Pelham Place. A Google drive-by shows that parking and associated meters is now on the left hand of the road giving the crescent a much more cluttered and congested appearance.

Pelham Crescent, South Kensington
Ian Nairn in his book Nairn's London (1966) describes Pelham Crescent: "Bayswater should have looked like this. It makes a perfect urban unit - formal but not rigid, self-contained yet not sealed up. It could be plugged in to any part of London's structure, and would be as happy off the Mile End Road as in Belgravia."
