Terminal platform at Putney Bridge station
The station is on the District Line. From opening in 1880, for the first nine years this was the terminus of the District Line until the construction of Fulham railway bridge allowed its trains to use South Western Railway tracks to Wimbledon. The unusual buffers shown here (seen also in Image ) may date from that time.
